			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have decimated my body.  Not in the modern, &#8220;totally destroyed&#8221; sense of the word, but in the original, Roman sense.  Of the pounds I started with, one in ten of them are now gone.  Yep, today I weighed in at 288.0 lbs., and thus I&#8217;ve lost 10% of my starting body weight.</p>
<p>The changes are notable.  I feel better, people notice that I&#8217;ve lost weight, and my pants are much more gangsta, even when I&#8217;m wearing my belt at the smallest hole.  It is good to be less of me!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;ve been neglecting to update this blog, mainly because it&#8217;s become so repetitive.  &#8221;My weigh-in says X, I&#8217;m surprised at how easy this still is, etc.&#8221;</p>
<p>This morning I was down to 289.4 lbs., which puts me within striking distance of 288.3 lbs., which is the point at which I&#8217;ll have lost 10% of my starting mass.  I feel good and I apparently look a lot better (a couple of people have noticed the weight loss without me saying anything).</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re reading this because you&#8217;re not sure whether it really works, well, at least for me, it does&#8230; so far at least.  I&#8217;ve been graphing my weight, and while it&#8217;s a bumpy line (due to the alternating day schedule), the overall trend shows that I haven&#8217;t plateaued yet.  I haven&#8217;t hit the two month mark yet, and I&#8217;ve lost 30 pounds without really doing any work at all.  I&#8217;m awfully pleased.</p>
<p>Thanks again to Jen, who turned me on to this whole crazy idea and convinced me that it was possible (mainly by losing a substantial amount of weight herself).  I&#8217;m very grateful.</p>

<p>So last night my stomach started hurting, and I had a pretty good idea what was at fault.  Lack of pooping.  I&#8217;ve gotten bound up like this a few times before, so I&#8217;m not blaming it on the fasting, but I certainly have been pooping less of late, and apparently my GI tract just decided to take some time off.</p>
<p>Anyway, my guts hurt, and I couldn&#8217;t get any relief; nothing at all was moving down there.  So I ended up skipping dinner, and then getting out of bed at something like 2:30 AM and walking around town, hoping the physical activity would kickstart something, all to no avail.</p>
<p>This morning, I called in sick, as I&#8217;d gotten no sleep and was still hurting.   I altered my fast rule for the day by allowing some prunes, as I considered them medicinal rather than foodstuffs.  Later in the morning, I had a small amount of success with the pooping, and later got my hands on some milk of magnesia, and I think the unpleasantness is nearing an end.  Thus ends the poop talk.  Sorry about that.</p>
<p>Anyway, since I didn&#8217;t have any dinner last night, I decided to allow myself one meal today to make up for it; as I thought not eating four meals in a row might be a bit excessive.  (The meal was lunch; Thai food.)</p>
<p>This morning&#8217;s weigh-in was 302.4 pounds.  I&#8217;m so close to the line, but I think I probably won&#8217;t hit it until next week, after all this dietary chaos over the last 24 hours or so.</p>

<p>That&#8217;s my current goal; if I get from 320 to 299, I&#8217;ll have achieved something I can point to and say, &#8220;look at that weight I lost!&#8221;  (Except I won&#8217;t really be able to point to it, because it&#8217;s not there any more, but you get the idea.)  After I hit that goal, my new goal will be to get down to 275, and after that, to get to 250.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m telling myself I&#8217;m almost a third of the way to my final goal even though it&#8217;s not entirely accurate (20 pounds would put me closer to 29% of the way there) because it makes me feel good.</p>
